For The LOVE Workshop!

This has been a hard week. Jesus has been faithful to minister and reveal mysteries. It is so difficult to be content in the talents God gives you. Everyone is a photographer in my city...and it is easy to get down on yourself after looking through blog after blog after blog. This passage from James really affirmed me this week that I do not do my job out of selfish ambition. I can't even bring myself to have a facebook page for the JGP. Maybe I need a refresher...

There is an incredible opportunity to attend a workshop in the Smoky Mountains that centers of passion and your faith. "For the Love Workshop" is an opportunity to refuel and the majesty that God created for his own pleasure. I am trying my hand at winning a spot to the workshop. Even spending time doing little things for the contest has been an amazing gift. It has made all the difference. Here are a couple of pictures I couldn't really choose between for the submission. It was the most fabulous weekend you could ever imagine. She took all wedding celebrations to another level. I was also blessed to be a part of their ceremony and was honored that she would ask. On the Move!

First, I would like to thank everyone for their support and love over the past couple of months. It has been a complete dream to travel and photograph gorgeous people all over the country. I have taken the last month to work more in the office than overloading my schedule with shoots. I needed the time to refuel and think.

The fall is shaping up to be an amazing season and I will have a ton of new shoots to blog in the coming months. I want to thank my clients who have scheduled shoots all over! Even though the area I live in is over saturated with photographers, I am not tied here and am constantly challenged and moved by the changing landscapes I am blessed to travel. Thank you for trusting my work enough to have me out to your "neck of the woods"!

I would like to announce that I am taking a few more sessions in the Memphis / Mississippi area in early November. I am also booking sessions in Dallas, November 3-5. What kind of session would you like to book? The possibilities are endless! Thanks and have an amazing weekend!

On the Move - Kentucky

Hello All! It's been some time since a post. I absolutely loved this past week at camp. It was a good time with fam & great friends. I know that it is not imperative to keep you in the loop about my personal life, but it is photography related. I have a huge passion for my own personal images to look dirty, grungy, etc. And I think it is important to keep my clients super happy as well. So the things I shoot for personal use will probably look and feel alot different than the work I do for clients. I believe it's important to push yourself in alot of different directions for art sake. So I say this with the hope that we would jump into different challenges with both feet. So what will you try differently with photography, art, life? You are a work of art, created to express and discover beauty.

PS. I have started shooting film again on my nikon. I want the digital photographs as well as the film to have some cohesiveness this summer. I will hopefully post the film soon!

Where do I begin with Meg & Wade? Megan and I used to work together back in the days of CIS and then she moved. We were all very sad. But when Megan started her new job with younglife, she met Wade! And then Wade moved! Crazy! They were in town for a wedding and we were able to spend time together. I couldn't resist taking a few photos them. They are gorgeous!

Chynah is a senior this year! She has such a beautiful spirit and the skills of a supermodel. She is gorgeous! She made this shoot a breeze as well as her family. Her "film" had so much to choose from. Normally I have 30 images to choose from and we had close to 100 this time around. I can't wait for her family to see them! Thank you, Chynah! It was the best day of doing my job so far!
